State of Emergency; A Workforce Abandoned, People at Risk

September 15, 2016 – WE NEED CHANGE NOW

Oregon community providers are in the midst of an unprecedented direct care workforce staffing crisis. Staff employed by community agencies who support individuals who experience intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) are leaving the field in record numbers due to poverty wages. Oregon policy and funding decision-makers must take immediate action to resolve this statewide crisis.
